In The Good Little Christmas Tree, a poor peasant brings back a scraggy Christmas tree for his children, but he has nothing to decorate it with. He and his wife console themselves that they have such “good, unselfish children” that they will think the tree “very pretty as it is and make the best of it”. Touched by their goodness, the little tree sets off to barter her needles for icicles, candles and stars and has a wonderful exciting journey on the way and 1st, 2nd and 3rd class show this story very well.
