Well done to our 1st class young runner who is showing off her 2nd place medal here.
The Senior Room have just completed a lot of work on World War 1, 1914-18. We’ve studied the countries involved, the famous Irish WW1 poet Francis Ledwidge (who was born in Slane and whose patron was the 18th Lord Dunsany), we’ve written our own poems, learned about trench warfare and made our own very impressive trenches.
We each had to submit a typed assignment on the war too. In these photos you’ll see us introducing the other classes to the horrors of WW1.

The Junior Room’s post-Christmas Show ‘n Tell was enjoyed by all. It was great to see all the interesting things the children got for Christmas and to talk about their most treasured gift. How lucky we all are!
We ran a Readathon for the whole month of December. We nominated two charities to receive all the proceeds of our collection. We raised an amazing €1330 in total for ISPPC and Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Keep up the great reading boys & girls!
Any excuse for a party! Now whoever heard of a Shape Party? Well, they’ve recently had an exciting one in the Infant Room. We think they’re a super idea!
There is a tale that has been told throughout the years about an old Russian woman Natalia, the legend of Baboushka and this Christmas the tale was given a modern twist by 4th. 5th and 6th class with a little help from DJ LK. The tale tells of Natalia this legendary woman who visits the home of every child at Christmas time.
