Mrs. Mona Ennis ( neé Englishby)
On the afternoon of Sunday November 10th a few committee members from the Gathering and pupils from Dunsany N.S. took a trip to Knightsbridge Nursing Home to visit Mrs. Mona Ennis (neé Englishby). Mrs. Ennis was a past pupil of Dunsany N.S. from many years ago and was unable to attend our Gathering event on September 21st. Her family contacted us to arrange a meeting to present her with her scroll. Mrs. Ennis was in great spirits on the day and was delighted with her scroll, she could tell us of many memories from her childhood school days. She also gave a great account of all the neighbours she had when she lived on the Old Road in Dunsany. Her family were most pleasant and had a great welcome for us on the day. Mrs. Ennis’s son & grandson travelled from Scotland and her daughters from Kildare and Wexford. Mrs. Ennis really enjoyed the chat with us, and us with her. There will be a big birthday to celebrate in January as she will reach her 90th birthday. We wish her and her family all the best wishes for the future and thank them and The Knightsbridge Nursing Home for their hospitality on the day.
