€56.50 was raised by Third Class recently. Their idea of a pop-up shop to raise charity funds for our annual Christmas fund-raiser proved very popular with all the pupils. This was the first time that a group of such young pupils brought an initiative like this to the staff for consideration – how charitable and enterprising of you all. Well done to all!
At the launch of the 24th Annual Dunsany/Kilmessan Chase were pupils from Dunsany/Kilmessan National Schools along with top jockey Paul Carberry, successful local trainer Matthew Smith and accompanied by Vice Principal Mr. Donnelly aboard his horse Frank. This year’s Chase will take place on Sunday 13th December, meeting at 1pm for a 1.30pm start. As usual we provide refreshments, raffle, charity auction and plenty of fun afterwards in Dunsany Hall. Whether you have a horse or not come join us on the day! We will not have a lead rein this year.
Tickets available from Ardboyne Hotel (046 9023119) or Dunsany NS PA Committee – 086 8202584
We saw school year 2013/14 out in great style. After our open-air Mass, attended by parishioners, pupils and teachers, local man Pierce Bolger brought along his guide-dog Whiskey and hosted a great Q & A session. Pierce is a great character – he had all of us in stitches! He told us all about the very serious business of the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind Association too. We raised over €280 for the Association through our Sports Day frolics.
